Dental Implants by Oraltronics ®

dr_lenia_dental_implantsDental Implants replace missing tooth roots and form a stable foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and  function like real teeth. Made from titanium they can be used to replace single teeth right through to full mouth reconstruction. We only use the highest quality materials (Oraltronics ®, made in Germany) to ensure an unsurpassed success rate.

Benefits of dental implants

One of the main benefits of dental implants over conventional methods of tooth replacement is the preservation of the supporting soft tissues. In addition natural teeth don’t need to be cut down to support bridges; you will also enjoy increased stability and comfort plus the restoration of your natural chewing ability.

Fitting Dental Implants

Dental implants are placed via a small invasive procedure, where a titanium implant is fitted securely into the bone. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic. After a natural healing process whereby the implant is fully fused into the bone, a post or abutment can be fixed on to the implant. It is on this post that the porcelain crown or bridge is then fitted.

Single and Multiple Tooth Replacement

Dental implants are recommended for replacing single missing teeth right up to complete tooth restoration in the upper and lower jaws.

Dental Implant Process

Step 1

First you will have an initial consultation, where all the various treatment options will be explored. Full mouth X-rays and study models may be taken at this time. Following your initial appointment a treatment plan will be advised.

Step 2

If the patient is happy to go ahead, a surgical appointment is made for the placement of the implant. If you are having multiple implants, these can usually be fitted in one appointment. A soft diet is recommended initially, particularly if a temporary denture is being worn - you will be advised.

Step 3

After a healing period (normally several months) the implants are checked to make sure they have fully integrated into the bone. A painless surgical procedure is used to expose the implant so a post can be fitted onto the implant. Normally, an impression of your teeth will be taken at the same time. We will complete a colour match and record of your bite. You will then be fitted with a temporary crown/bridge whilst your new one is being made.

Step 4

The final crowns and bridges are fitted onto the implant abutment, usually one week to ten days later.

Please note the above should only be used as a guideline as each case will be treated on an individual basis. We are also available to discuss any queries or concerns you may have.
